Mac sees Lilly go into the house and starts calling Lilly from the otherside of the gate: Lilly?! (to himself as he checks the slip of paper in his hand) Hmm this is the place alright, 1778 Connerston Lane West, dark blue house with pale blue trimming and teddy bear shaped flier box. (Decides to jump the gate and walk up the path to the door thinking) Oh god Ah hope she's home and heard me. (Calls Lilly one more time) Lilly?!

Lilly hears Mac's voice outside and thinks: Mac's here?! I didn't even know he was coming to visit me! Better go outside just incase he thinks I'm not home. (Grabs her coat off the coat rack, plops Mac's extra pilot's hat back on her head then heads back to the front door letting the door shut behind her and sees that Mac was walking up the porch and had stopped on the fifth step and went out saying) Mac?!

Mac climbs the last step and gently sits his duffle bag and small heavy box down to envlope Lilly into his arms saying: Hmm,how ya been love? You alright? Ah heard you'd been really sick lately with a real high fever and got worried about you so Ah took time off to be with you. You been doin alright? (Sees what jacket Lilly was wearing and says) Ah've been wonderin where my heavy winter pilot's jacket went off to. Ah left it here on my last visit, shortly before (lets his voice drop in sadness as he recalled the day he broke up with Lilly and stormed out of the house in a fit of anger leaving behind his duffelbag, winter jacket and hat and says) we broke up. Now when ah look back at that day,ah feel so immature that we couldn't work things out like adults. Ah guess you got sick shortly after ah went back home to Mars huh?

Lilly slides her arms as far around Mac's ribs as she could,lays her head on the spot where his heart was beating and says: Yeah, I got sick right after you left and went back to Mars, but the break up gave us time to think about what we want to take out of this relationship and what we want to keep with us in this relationship when we get married. I didn't get sick because we broke up hon, I wasn't feelin up to par the last time you were here and if you remember correctly, you said it'd be best if I didn't have any visitors for awhile so that I could rest and get over what ever it was that I had. After I came down with the flu, I got depressed thinking about what went wrong and began to wonder if you were ever coming back to claim your unpacked things that I stuck in the closet. I left a number of messages on your answering machine begging you to tell me what I did wrong that upset you so much that you broke up with me for an entire month. But you never returned any of my calls or answered any of my letters, I began to think that we were done forever and that you weren't going to continue seeing me.

Mac holds Lilly closer to his heart and says: It wasn't anything you did, it was more of what ah did and besides,ah wasn't home very much,but Dustin did check the answering machine and left the transcripted messages on the message board so ah was informed that you'd been calling but ah was pretty busy until now. So ah went and as a get well soon gift ah got you these (leans down and unzips the side compartment of his duffel bag and produces a wrapped bunny shaped box and says) Pour vous. Ah picked it out at an antique clock shop down town before catching the bus here. It seemed to scream "Lilly" and ah picked it and several others out and bought them for you.

Lilly takes the rabbit shaped parcel from Mac's hand,unwraps it,opens the box and pulls out the rabbit clock the orphanage director carefully packed away while she packed up to go to her new home on Mars with Stoker saying: My Bunny clock ! I thought I lost this many years ago after I was adopted!

Mac drops a kiss on the top of Lilly's head and says: So,how ya been feelin since you were sick?

Lilly: How'm I feelin now? Well truth be told, I'm still a bit tired and weak but I'm up the hill now and out of the shadow of relapsing and I haven't had another fever in over a month. So basically I'm fine! (Sees that the light rain/snow shower was turning nasty and says) Oh ,c'mon inside,it's starting to snow heavier now and there's no need for you to catch cold on your time off work hon. (Kisses his cheek saying) C'mon,you can warm up inside, I've got the heat on full blast to warm the house up. If you haven't eaten anything yet,then your in luck 'cause I'm making pancakes for breakfast. Have you eaten yet?

Mac wraps his arm around Lilly's waist then kisses her on the cheek and says: No not yet. The only meal ah had was as swift light snack and that was before ah left Mars to come here worried out of my skull about you and your habits of over exerting yourself. Sounds great baby! (After grabbing his bag and the small heavy box and banging the snow off his boots, he allows Lilly to pull him into the house where they stop at the coat rack to remove their hats and coats and then continue down the hall into the kitchen where he sees that Lilly was about to make Pancakes and says) M-hic-oh 'scuse me, maybe ah should go and unpack before ah even think of eating. My bag's not really light and there's something that ah need to unpack before it gets too late. Ah'll be back down in a minute love. (Darts up the stairs thinking)Well at least ah can finish wrapping Lilly's present in private so that she won't know ah went and bought her a labtop computer and free internet connections from a friend of hers to cheer her up. Ah just hope she likes it. (Enters Lilly's bedroom and starts unpacking his clothes and puts them away in the dresser set aside for him, then pulls out the labtop and wrapping paper and finishes wrapping it and signing the card then picks it up and carries it down stairs to the kitchen where he finds a jumbo stack of Lilly's pancakes still steaming hot from the frying pan sitting on a large platter on the table and says after setting the box on the ground beside his chair and kissing her mouth) mmm,smells good there love.

Lilly returns Mac's kiss and says: Hmm thanks. I wasn't expecting you to arrive until tomorrow the way you said, but since your here and the house is clean, I guess I can relax and take it easy until you have to leave again. (Sits down and lets Mac put two piping hot pancakes on her plate and drown them in the maple syrup that was in the coiffer on the table then pour her a glass of Sunny Delight while saying)When do you have to leave hon?

Mac looks up and says: Not for at least three months love. Ah took a leave of absence to be with you when you need me the most. When ah do leave, it won't be alone. You m'dear will be coming with me back to Mars so that way ah won't have to worry mahself sick if you get the flu again. We'll just wish everything in the cupboards,the deep freez in the basement and in the fridge to my new larger apartment that is well under stocked and under furnished so everything here can be duplicated and wished to my place on Mars then all that'd be left is me and you to leave here and head home. How's that sound to you? The kids miss you and there's good news about other kids.

Lilly lets the sparkle in her eyes answer his question then says: Sounds great! I get pretty lonely being all alone after you've left. What's the good news? So what's in the wrapped up box your carrying?

Mac being playfully stern,he flicks her nose and says: Just never you mind until after breakfast.Then you'll get what ah brought for you.

Lilly in sheer shock: What about an Easter wedding? All of my past weddings have been on Easter, so why break the tradition and have it on another date?

Mac shakes his head and says: You and I both know that we'll be getting married soon and we both settled on your birthday for our wedding date or should we have it the night before?

Lilly nods and says: Not everyone is quite willing to give up their christmas night so we'll do it christmas eve which orignally is my birthday or we can wait and see how many RSVP's we get and then decide on the date.

Mac reaches out and gently lays his left hand on Lilly's cheek causing her cheeks to turn pale pink and says: What ever you want m'dear, you'll get. So we'll wait until we get a set number of people to set the date. (Removes his hand,reaches down to pull Lilly's naturally form fitting shirt and notices that it was extreamly loose then reaches under it and runs his hand up her rib cage and feels her ribs under her skin and fur removes his hand and says) As for now eat sweetheart,you look and feel thinner than normal and ah don't like seeing or feelin yer ribs through yer skin and fur. You been eating alright darlin? Yer thinner than you normally are and I can feel your ribs through your skin and fur. Are you sure that you're alright and don't need me to call Terry? I dunno. It sounds like a great idea, but wait and pitch it when we get home and see how many want a Christmas or Easter wedding then we'll plan.

Lilly: Even better idea, write down the two holidays and draw a line between each one and a line down the middle of the page and fax one copy to Carbine and another copy to Stoker, that way we'll have an idea of who wants what. After all, Terrence and Jamie are getting married on Christmas eve and that's only twenty three days away. So I think that it'd be a good idea to have an easter wedding,but we'll wait and see what the others have to say. Yeah, I'm fine. I was in bed for a while and lost a lot of weight from the fever. I had the flu for a while, my appitite just hasn't returned to normal yet. Besides you know from what I told you that I had the other flu bug and I couldn't eat very much food because I couldn't keep it down and yes my dad took care of me while I was sick in bed so don't worry. I wasn't alone,my parents and siblings came to help out with the household chores while I rested and got better. That's why I tire easier than I used to. (Cuts through the two pancakes and eats them and says) I just take my time and don't rush my eating so I won't get sick. I eat what I can and save the rest or feed it to the dog or cat to eat so it won't be wasted. It'll be awhile before I regain my body weight again,but knowing you and your cooking, before we leave in three months, I'll be back to my normal weight.

Mac nods and says: Ya better believe ah will doll. Yer goin right back to the weight you were at before ya became sick. If ah have anythin to do with yer life which ah do, you'll be back where you started from with a few extra pounds on ya to spare.

Lilly picks up on the meaning of "a few extra pounds" and says in a warning tone of voice: Maaaaac, what'd we agree on?

Mac feels his cheeks go red and says: To wait until we're married for a wee bairn.

Lilly: Good,now keep your mind on our wedding and not on having a baby before we get married. The baby can wait until we've settled in with eachother. Now as you told me not too long ago: Eat pappa eat!

Mac snickers then sighs and says: Ahh ya don't know how much ah missed hearin ya say that phrase love.

Lilly: I can imagine how much you missed me.

Both Mac and Lilly finish eating their breakfast and put their dishes in the dishwasher to be cleaned and wiped off the table. Then after they were sitting down again, Mac picked up the box and sat it on the table.

Mac sets the labtop computer on the clean kitchen table and says: Here,an engagement present from me to you. Ah hope Ah got the right one.

Lilly starts to carefully remove the wrapping paper from the box then ran her finger nail through the packing tape to open it then opens the box and reaches in to pull out the labtop she'd had on lay away at a computer store in Chicago and says: Oh Mac,it's the one I've had on layaway with four more payments to go before it was officially mine! How could you have possibly afforeded the $498.86 all at once?

Mac: Easy as pie m'dear. Ah get paid well above that amount and took it out of mah paychecks and was able with last weeks checks to take it off layaway and have it with me to give to you. Ah hoped it would perk you up a bit.

Lilly sets the labtop down on the table then jumps up from her chair and throws her arms around Mac's neck saying: Oh you're so sweet to me! It's almost like you're spoiling me to death! (Starts to feel tired after all the house work she'd done that morning and says) I'll just unload the dryer,fold the clothes, reload the washer then bring up the clean clothes so I won't be bringing up three heavy loads of clean clothes.

Mac picks up on Lilly's weariness and says: Aww no ya don't! (Stands up,sweeps Lilly into his arms and says)You m'dear are going to do no such thing! Yer goin upstairs and yer are gonna lay down and get some sleep! Yer over doing yeself and it's not healthy for ya not to have a nap! (Walks out of the kitchen and up the stairs carrying Lilly in his arms)

Lilly nestles herself into Mac's arms and lays her head on his chest saying with a yawn: What ever you say. (Promtly falls asleep)

As Mac carried Lilly up the stairs, he adjusted her weight to be evenly spread out from her back to her knees which made carrying her up the stairs much easier. Once Mac was outside the bedroom door, he nudged it open,walks in and kicks it shut then walks over to the bed he shared with Lilly and laid her on it. Mac gently lays his sleeping fianceè down on the bed,kicks his boots off, throws his jacket over the chair,pulls back the covers and lays down on the bed,slides in besided Lilly and pulls up the covers and promptly falls asleep after setting the alarm for 2 p.m.

A few minutes later, Mac got up and left his comfortable positon on the bed and decided he should change into something more comfortable than his jeans and shirt. Opening his top drawer, Mac pulled out his bedclothes and quickly changed from his jeans and shirt as to which he laid over the back of his chair to his night clothes and gently awakened the sleeping Lilly to get her to change into her night clothes

Mac gently awakening his sleeping fianceè: Lilly, oh Lilly love. Ah think it's best that you change from yer clothes into yer pj's for maximum comfort. Cm'on and get up and change, trust me you'll feel better. (Slides into bed and lays back and instantly falls back asleep.)

Lilly gets up out of bed and grabs her night clothes off the floor where she had left them and changes from her skirt and long sleeved shirt into her favourite pooh bear printed pj's and nestles back into her bed, lays her head on Mac's chest and instantly falls back asleep feeling more comfortable.

What felt like two hours later, Krisitn's bunny clock rang it's ears to signal that it was time to get up.

Mac heaves a yawn,stretches then sits up and stares at the bunny clock he'd gotten Lilly as a gift after their first break up and make up and thinks to himself as he looked at the peacefully sleeping Lilly: Hmm, 'cordin to mah watch, it's only five after nine, maybe ah should wake Lilly up and ask her if Bunny is running on the correct time. (Gently kisses Lilly's mouth and says in a low whisper) Love is bunny running on the right time? Mah watch says it's only five after nine. Is mah watch wrong love?

Lilly looks at the Bunny clock on the wall and at Mac's watch and says: No you're runnin on the right time love, I forgot to rewind it after I turned it back an hour. Just turn the the little thing at the back until it won't budge then reset the alarm for what ever time it was orignially set for. We went to bed early and had breakfast later than usual. I've got some pancake batter left over that I can whip into pancakes if you're hungry.

Mac hears his obnoxious stomach rumble and says: Hmm yeah, pancakes sound nice, but we've already had pancakes. Hows about Waffles with chocolate chips?

Lilly yawns,stretches then flings back the warm covers startling Mac's tabby cat and says: Grab ahold of baby there, he's getting upset 'cause we're getting up and awakening him at the same time. (Swings her 5'6" body out of her bed and slides her feet into her bunny slippers and grabs her bunny printed flannel robe off the hook by herside of the bed and slides it on fastening the belt at her waist and says) C'mon and we'll grab ourselves a snack. Did I feed him? If I didn't then that's why he's so miserable towards me. He's been batting his food dish around since you arrived

Mac scoops up Tigger and says: Why you so mean to mommy who feeds you when I'm at work huh?

Tigger points an accusing paw and says: She didn't feed me yet and I'm hungry! I'm just a kitten and I'm hungry now! Feed me or I'll tell my daddy that you're not feeding me!

Lilly realizes that she had forgotten to feed Tigger and says: Oh man! I never fed him! (reaches over and scratches Tigger behind his ears saying) I'm so sorry Tiggy! I thought I'd fed you before we came upstairs. You'll get double the amount of kitten chow this time. Chunky Chicken and Beef Stew moist cat food that I just bought?

Tigger licks his chops and says eagerly: The one that looks like Chunky Chicken and Beef stew?!

Lilly nods and says: I got twelve cases of it! It was on sale in bulk along with the dog food.

Mac surprised that his fiancee had probably spent the food budget on twelve cases of Cat and Dog food and says: Oh yeah there was that huge sale goin on a while back before you got sick. Quite the number of bargains to be had that week. Maybe that's where you caught your cold! People were hacking and barking and it was frightfully chilly and you did have a weakened immune system from a previous cold you just got over. (watches as Lilly jumped up and says in a concerned voice) Lilly, take it easy! You're not up to full strength yet and jumping up like that won't be appreciated by your muscles just yet.

Lilly eases down and says: Probably

Tigger jumps out of Mac's arms,down onto the bed and cautiously rubs against Lilly who was giving off sick vibes again and says: Are you SURE you're not sick again Lilly?

Lilly: Hmm-mmm, no I'm fine

Mac tosses his pants aside and walks back to the bed where he sits beside a flush faced Lilly and lays his hand on her forehead and says: Lilly, you are a bit warm hon. Take it easy and don't push your limits!

Lilly shakes her head and says: I just have eight loads of laundry to do, I've yet to wipe down the floors and put up the tree.

Mac heaves a sigh and says: Oh no you're not! You're going to eat then you're going to lay on the couch and take it easy! I don't trust this fever that's setting on! Well, lets get going down stairs and get this little guy fed. Did you feed the dog yet? (Sees Lilly's cheeks go red and says) Ah'll feed the dogs and the other animals their lunch while you get our extra early lunch on the go. (Gets up and walks over to the bedroom door and opens it waiting for Lilly to follow him down stairs,turns back and sees that Lilly was still sitting with her head in her hands and says in a worried voice) What's wrong? Are you gonna be sick?!

Lilly stands up and follows Mac out the door and says after emitting three sneezes: No, ahchoo! I'm ahchoo fine ahchoo hon. The weather's aggrivating my allergies again this winter. We had a wacky fall that alternated between rain,sleet, humidity,slushy snow and snow showers that turned into a raging snow storm that ended with the temperatures skyrocketing up to almost eightyfive degrees in one day. (Swiftly bounces up on to her feet,forgetting that she'd been sick and becomes dizzy causing the room to spin out of control sending Tigger on high alert over to Mac so he'd be able to help her to sit on the bed and lower her head below her heart)

Tigger sees Lilly having one of her dizzy spells and darts over to Mac who was waiting at the top of the stairs saying: It's happening to her again! The blood's gone from her head and she's really disoriented and needs you to help her sit on the bed and lower her head lower than her heart.

Mac darts back in to the bedroom,wraps his arms around Lilly's shoulders saying: Here hon,sit on the bed and put your head lower than your heart so that the blood will flow again (Guides a disoriented Lilly over to the bed and puts her head down lower than her heart saying) and when you're ready,we'll go downstairs ok?

Lilly: Ok. I-I just need a few minutes to get my self together. (Starts to breathe deeply very slowly until her vision had cleared and she felt steady enough to walk and says) Well,let's give my balance and legs a try and see if we get anywhere.

Mac nods and slowly stands up saying: Alright,now take it slowly. Don't rush your self,you've been mighty sick lately and if you try to do too many things,you'll wind up in the hospital.

Lilly nods and says: Alright,lets go. (Slowly starts to walk out of the bedroom and down the stairs and into the kitchen where Mac guides her over to her chair as she says) I though you wanted chocolate chocolate chip waffles for lunch?

Mac nods and says: Ah do,but yer gonna rest and do nothing absolutly nothing while ah make our lunch. Ah think that's yer problem. You need something in yer stomach to balance things out. (Opens the cabinet and pulls says) What did you say you were gonna feed the cat again?

Lilly looks up and says: Chunky Chicken and Beef Stew moist kitten chow in the big can. Tiggie's waiting paitently by his bowl for you to open that can and give him back his bowl so that he can eat.

Mac nods and says: Ah ha! Ah found it! Right in front of my nose! (Straightens up and sticks the can under the electric can opener until the lid came off then tipped the can upside down and whacked the side of the can to remove the food then removes the can and reveals the food standing in a cylinder shape in the bowl and mashes it down then gives Tigger his bowl back and gives him fresh bottled water in his water dish then goes on to open four cans of Chunky Beef and Liver moist dog food and opens the can and slops it into the dogs bowls and gives the bowls back to the dogs and goes on to clean up and,plugs in the waffel iron,starts making waffel batter by pouring chocolate chips into the batter and when everything was ready he spooned a large batch of the batter onto all four parts until the entire bowl was empty and they had a jumbo stack of waffels infront of them as he says) And to finish it off,another jug of Sunny Delight California Punch!

Lilly feels her stomach lurch and says: Hmm,smells good. Though that garbage could stand to be tossed out on the curb, it's making me sick to my stomach.

Mac nods and says: Alrighty then, I'll just get rid of it for you love that way your appitite will be restored. It's making me sick as well so I can understand how you feel. (Goes over to the garbage can,removes the lid then ties the two sides of the bag together, then he sticks his feet into his boots that he'd left at the front door,slides his jacket on and heads out to the curb where he deposits the raunchy smelling bag of trash then heads back into the house,removes his coat and boots then pulls out a new garbage bag,puts it in to the garbage can,puts the lid on it then goes over to the sink,turns the hot water on and starts washes his hands with the disinfecting soap Bryce had given him to use and says) Alrighty then! Lets eat! (Puts the dishwasher soap and jet dry into the dish washer, closed and turned it on then picked up the platter full of waffels and sits it on the table,then goes back the counter to get the pitcher of juice and the syrup and returns to the table saying) Voila! Waffles ala Mackenzie. Eat up and enjoy then we'll go back to bed for awhile longer.

After Mac placed two steaming hot cups of coffee on the table followed by two steaming hot waffles on Lilly's plate,poured syrup over them and poured her a large glass of Sunny Delight, they both started eating and at exactly ten thirty after taking their time eating their lunch, Lilly and Mac unloaded the dishwasher,put away the clean dishes and reloaded it with the dirty dishes.

Mac stands up saying: I'll take care of the laundry and it's still too early for the tree! Now come on! Into the guest room where you're going to lay down and get some sleep! (Pulls Lilly to her feet and says) Don't argue with me or I'll get Stoker down here!

Lilly: He left here round about three days ago and is in no hurry to return.

Mac: What happened Lilly?

Lilly: He had an emergency with Joey's health, seems she caught the same bug I caught.

Mac: Poor Joey, she's just had a long running streak of bad luck since she was born. She had one heckuva hole in her heart, had her heart replaced at age 7 then again at age 14, then open heart surgery to repair a previously damaged artery from a previous surgery and now this strain on her heart. (Tugs Lilly's arm saying) Enough about Joey, she's in good hands. As for you, into the guest room and into that bed! You're falling asleep on your feet as it is!

Lilly caves into Mac's gentle tugging and says: Alright,alright I'm coming! (Follows Mac into the guest room)

Mac gently tugs Lilly over to the bed where he pulled back the festive bedding and says: Get in Lilly! The sooner you get into bed and get some rest, the sooner you can start battling that fever that's starting to show.
