A "Wink" From the Turtles to the Mice?

Although this is not a fanfic, I'd like to post yet another observation that I found in the mainstream media.

I am a major fan of the TMNT and have been since age 13. With the newest cartoon of our Turtles out, they are now 100 years in the future, working and staying with a "relative" of theirs.

Last season, there was an episode where the Turtles and their "relative", Cody Jones, had gone out to their favorite fast food place for...not pizza, as most would think...but hotdogs. Okay, so that's not big, but the show's plotline centered around the conflict beginning with Michaelangelo's hotdog being contaminated. Not so big of a notice, but the association to BMFM made me laugh. And I laughed even harder when the Turtles said that that was their favorite place!

Well. With this new season, my local station is showing back-to-back episodes of TMNT Fast Forward. A repeat from last season followed by a new episode from this season. (Sorry for the long backstory). This morning there was a repeat episode from last season that I had forgotten about.

In this episode, Raph wants to go see a professional galactic wrestling match. Leo gets to tag along for "supervision". As they are waiting for the match to start, Raphael calls a vendor over. He begins to ask for the typical "food" that one would find at sporting events. This being the "future", hilarity and confustion ensue. Raph goes, "...y' got any hotdogs?" Vendor looks confused and shakes head. Raphael continues to ask for items and the vendor continues to look more confused. "...nachos? Any nachos?! Okay. How about rootbeer? Y' ever hear of rootbeer?!"

At this point I was just dying with laughter. Now I know this just can't be coincidence with the wink and nod to our furry, loveable Martians. I just hope that we get more nods to BMFM. ...oh, and I also enjoyed last season's nod to "Cowboys Of Moo Mesa", but never saw that cartoon...it's just funny... ;)
