Finally
I do not own the Biker Mice from Mars, not that I think anyone would pay
for this anyhow but I make no profit from writing it. The characters belong
to who ever created the original series.
Finally
By Morning 2000
Both had seen their share of sorrow and heartache. But as life would have
it their paths finally blended together into one journey. It had been so many
years since they'd been together. They had talked on the radio seen each other
briefly but this was the first time they could actually stay together.
Limburger
gone, earth was finally safe now they could work too completely remove the last
of the Plutarkian menace from their home world.
Since there was more peace than
conflict they could take a little more personal time for each other. Out in
the Martian desert they'd found a quiet spot atop a small ridge. He sat with
her comfortably leaning against his chest. His arms wrapped around her shoulders
as they watched the sun set. Throttle had been somewhat nervous when he picked
her up. It wasn't unusual for him to be quiet and pensive but this time he was
even more so.
"You cold?" He asked almost startling her.
"No not really." She
smiled snuggling closer. "This is still such a strangely beautiful world we
have in spite of what the Plutarkian's had done. Every day I see why our people
struggle so hard to keep it, sacrificed so much."
"Yeah she's quite a lovely
lady. The only other lady that will ever have my heart." He whispered close
to her ear in the voice that sent sky rockets to every part of her. The voice
that she longed to hear every moment they'd been apart.
"She better be!" Carbine
lightly teased turning towards him. She pauses for an instant then reaching
up gently sliding the specks off his face. She had to look into his eyes; those
precious gems that had captured her very soul from the first instant she'd met
him. It didn't matter what Karbunkle had done they still held the inner beauty
that had always left her breathless and always would.
Throttle could feel himself
once more falling in her chestnut brown eyes not wanting to stop himself. Her
thick black hair adorning her face like an ebony frame surrounding a great work
of art. That's what she was, the most exquisite work of creation that had ever
graced his life. His hand traced her cheek then held it steady as his mouth
caressed her forehead and moved down to place a sweet light peck on the tip
of her nose. She closed her eyes letting the feeling melt into her mind. He
pulled back his head to study her face only to see tears escaping from her closed
eyes.
"What's wrong, babe?"
"It’s just I never thought we would ever be this
happy again. It's kind of scary, that some how you'll disappear again." She
said in little more than a hush of a voice. He wiped her tears away with the
back of his hand hopefully brushing away all her fears. He could feel her shiver
a bit succumbing to the change in temperature from a sudden evening breeze that
whisked by. With out a second thought he removed his leather jacket and secured
it around her shoulders.
"Won't you get cold?"
"Nah, I have everything I need
to keep me warm." He smiled pulling her closer to him this time cradling her
in his arms so he could gaze at her face. His head lowered gradually as she
inhales just seconds before feeling his incredible kiss. Heaven is what she
thought every time he did, his movements slow and delicate like he thought she
might break. Her head filled with the fragrance surrounding his face. The light
mixture of his cologne only added to the mind filling experience.
Not in his
wildest dreams could Throttle have imagined feeling anything so prefect. Her
silky soft fur and sweet lips were totally intoxicating. As the kiss ended he
continued to hold her face in his hands. His thumbs tracing her mouth as if
he needed to touch them to make sure that they and she were real.
"Carbine I've
never loved anyone or anything as much as I do you. I know I have a lot to make
up for not being here and all, but I'll never leave you again. Will you do me
the honor of being my wife? His voice was unnaturally nervous for him. Unsure
and down right scared.
Carbine blinked stunned for a second. She'd known him,
it seem like, her entire life. He was her first and to be honest only love.
Her first kiss, the man who she'd waited a lifetime for. Now he'd finally asked
her, every dream and hope was becoming a reality and all she could do was stare
at him in disbelief with her mouth slightly hanging open.
Throttle didn’t quite
know what to make of her response whether her silence meant she was over come
with joy or couldn't find the words to let him down easy. He was going to risk
asking again what ever the answer it was better than the deer in the head light
stare she was giving him.
"Carbbie sweetie will you marry me?" He held his breath.
"Yes," Came from an almost whisper of a voice. Carbine was never what one would
call shy or soft-spoken but this was one time she was lost for words and the
simple quiet yes was all she could manage.
He took a small box from the pocket
of the jacket that draped her shoulders and handed it to her. With trembling
hands She opened it to see an earring. A radiant pink crystal placed in an antique
silvered metal setting.
"It's been in my family for as long as I can remember,
it was my great grand mothers. Some how my Mom was able to save it and when
I told her what I plan on doing she gave it to me." He said proudly. "She told
me it was about time."
"It's gorgeous." Carbine said in a still quiet voice
as she removed the earring that was presently in her ear. Throttle took the
small piece of jewel and after softly brushing her hair away, placed it in her
left ear. Then softly kissing were the earring found it's new home, lingering
there a moment.
Then he whispered, "I promise to make you as happy as it's possible
to be."
That was all it took she broke down in a flood of tears. She cried because
they'd both made it through the horrors of the war, because they were home and
together, but mostly because she couldn't put into words the love she felt for
him at that moment.
Throttle simply wrapped his arms around her tenderly, leaned
back and let her weep until she finally fell sleep holding him securely. The
last bit of light disappeared from the prefect Martian sky as evening draped
it's darkness over them, the two moons rose finding their place and Throttle
contently had finally found his there, with her in his arms.
The Beginning…….
