Prologue
Screams and groans echoed from the cold walls of the brig. Plutarkian guards marched through the halls, checking cells and the conditions of the inhabitants. When it came time, they would drag out a prisoner and take them to the Execution Room where they were dealt with for stepping out of line. A group of Plutarkian soldiers were having a hard time with their lot.
One grunted and pulled, "Come on! Hold her down!"
Another one yelled, "I can't! Oof!"
A kick to the groin, and the soldier fell to his side, covering his private area in pain. She panted angrily and skittered backwards to the wall behind her where two others shrank behind her. She growled as the guards tried to creep towards them and scratched at anyone that came too close. They had tried separating the three, but it was almost impossible! The tan one, who was in the front growled at them again, revealing her sharp, fang-like incisors.
"Get up, Cave Mouse!" one of the Plutarkian guards ordered, trying to get control of the situation. She replied by spitting in his face, "Bite me, fish-face."
The gray one behind her kept a stern look on her face, her arms wrapped tightly around the white one that held onto her like a security blanket. The white one stood out the most with her shock-red hair, done in a tight, thick braid that reached her waist. They wouldn't be separated. They had lost just about all their loved ones. They wouldn't lose each other.
The tan one before them had crimson eyes that blazed with anger and hatred for the Plutarkian guards before them. A lithe, scintillating figure clad in only a short, gray ragged skirt and a top with only one strap clinging on her right shoulder. The shirt was cut off just below her breasts. One black strap stuck out from under the top. She looked like easy prey. They had made the stupid mistake of trying to bed with her while their superior was away. Though she had fought them off, they had managed to rip at the little clothing she had. Dirty blonde hair stretching down to the small of her back, slightly smudged and frazzled from being in captivity for so long. She ripped off the I.D. band they had placed on her wrist. A thick, ugly, black accessory used to monitor the prisoners. She tossed it at another one, causing the rest of them to take a few steps back. They had never had this much trouble with prisoners before. They normally gave in or were executed. But for some odd reason, their superior insisted that these three were kept alive.
The gray one was dressed in the same attire as the tan one, her rags were a one-piece though, with both straps intact. Her hair was as gray as her fur, reaching slightly past her cleavage and also smudged. She was just as rabid as her sister before her, though her sister was speaking enough for the three of them. She held the white-furred one tightly to her, her outfit identical, save a few rips and tears at the edge of her 'dress'. Her sisters had arrived just in time before anything worse could've been done.
The white-furred mouse was sitting quietly in her cell when they came. They held her down by her arms and pulled at her clothing while the others guards went after her sisters.
BIG mistake.
The two went into a rage, attacking soldiers left to right. The gray grabbed the white and three made a break for it. But they trapped the three females in that room and were still trying to pull them apart.
"What is the meaning of this?" the soldiers cleared a path for their superior, dressed in velvet, military uniform, they looked down at the Cave mice angrily. One of the soldiers approached him, "These prisoners were trying to escape."
"And just how did they get out of their cells in the first place?!" the superior yelled, silencing his men. He grumbled, "I leave you alone for a few hours and you're already trying to screw the prisoners. If you want one so badly, you should buy one like everyone else!"
None of the guards would tell him that they couldn't. None of them could afford either of these three! They came as a package deal for some odd reason. The three were captured by Sand Raiders and sold as pleasure slaves. The gray and tan one fought with teeth and nails to keep the men's anxious hands at bay. And nearly killed anyone who approached the white one. Sisters, the lead Sand Raider said. He refused to sell them separately. Apparently, the tan one had a 'seizure' and the gray one 'lost her mind', clawing at anything that moved. Once the three were reunited, they were back to 'normal', growling at anyone that came too close. Giving up, he sold the girls to the Plutarkians.
"If you want the job done, you have to do it yourself," the superior said.
"Pull 'em apart," the leader said and his guards all chuckled. Without a warning, the guards pounced on the women, pulling them apart. They screamed and kicked.
"Royce! Lex!" the white one screamed as three guards easily pulled her from the trio.
The gray one, 'Royce', saw red and slapped one of the guards, grabbing her sister's hand. She gasped as she was grabbed by her hair and pulled to the floor. Four pounced on her, each grabbing a wrist or ankle and pulling her away.
"ROYCE!!" the tan one screamed before running at them. But the lead guard hit her at the base of her neck with the butt of his weapon and she fell limp to the floor.
Lexus woke up sometime later on some soft material. As her vision returned, she realized she was on a waterbed. A very large waterbed. She blinked as one of the many fish inside stared up at her before swimming towards the other end of the mattress. Her head shot up as the doors slid open.
High Chairman Camembert himself.
She screamed and ran at him, but her body was overcome by a shocking sensation and she fell back onto the bed.
"I wouldn't try that again," Camembert said casually as he approached the bed. He started tugging at his robe, "That metal collar you wear around your neck is used to keep the wearer in line. The Sand Raiders have sold you to me and I won't tolerate disobedient pleasure slaves."
Pleasure slave?! she growled and backed away to the other end of the bed as his robe fell to the floor, the full brunt of his obesity coming forth. She covered her mouth and her eyes widened as his odor rolled off of him and floated towards her. Her stomach began to turn. Plutarkians were known for the horrid body odor, and she was with their high chairman!
"Come here wench," Camembert ordered as he climbed onto the bed, the mattress wriggling like ocean waves as he did so. She glared at him. His eyes narrowed, "Now, bitch, if you ever wish to see your sisters again."
Her eyes widened. Where are Royce and Renault?! She was brought back to reality when she heard him chuckling, "Ah, I see I've gotten your attention. Now be a good whore and come here. I wish to get as much pleasure out of you as I can before Lady Camembert returns from her vacation."
She resisted the urge to curse him and slowly crawled towards him, the stench getting stronger and the urge to vomit growing stronger as well. He smirked, reaching for her top. She held her breath as his hand began to pull down her shirt. He stopped abruptly. She looked at him with glowering eyes as he gawked at her with wide ones. He grabbed his groin area in pain, falling off of the bed. Lexus crawled off of the bed, but not before spotting a dagger on the nightstand. The handle was made of gold and surrounded by multicolored gems. She scooped it into her hands and walked up to the mirror, bringing the dagger to the collar around her neck.
Royce remained cooped up in the corner of the room she was locked within. A guard was on his knees, clutching his abdomen. She growled at him, her tail waving from left to right behind her. He looked up at her in obvious pain, "Keep growlin' bitch! Once I'm up you're gonna pay for that!"
Seeing that the guard was making no attempts to retaliate, she got up with a smirk. "Not if I have anything to say about it," she said in a cocky tone before kicking him in the head, knocking him unconscious. She pried his laser gun from his fingers and ran out of the room.
"Alert! Alert! Prisoner escaping! I repeat, prisoner escaping!" a computer voice blared through the halls of the Plutarkian castle. Hordes of soldiers came running down the halls in search of the escapee.
"Augh!" another soldier screamed as laser fire pierced his chest and flew out through his back. Lexus quickly ducked behind the remains of a small cruiser before poking her head out and firing at the guards at the top of the castle. She shivered as a gust of wind blew at her and squatted down, folding her arms around her. She wanted to curl up in a nice, warm blanket and sleep. A laser narrowly missing her head brought her back to reality. She shook her head and made a run for it. The ground was covered with porcelain snow; she was reminded of that every time her bare feet touched it. As she got farther and farther from the castle, her hopes became dashed and she stopped. A river blocked her path. The current was gone, but a thin sheet of ice still covered it and she was already cold as it was. A streak of laser made a hole in the ground by her foot. She couldn't think of a better form of persuasion! At top speed she ran at the river and dove in.
In all the commotion, Renault knocked out the guard and took refuge in a ventilation shaft. She didn't know her way around and would stay in that shaft rather than end up in a Plutarkian's bed. The sound of pounding footsteps came near and she held her breath. They swiftly passed her, searching for someone else. That's when she heard lighter footsteps. She remained silent as the thin shadow grew and the footsteps became louder.
"Royce!" the gray mouse's head shot up, searching for the voice, "Renny?" The white mouse kicked down the cage of the shaft and ran into the open arms of her sister. Royce looked down at her with a look of hope, "Let's find Lex and get the hell outta here." The two had to duck before coming face-to-face with laser fire.
"Shit! They must've spotted me. Come on!" Royce grabbed Renault by the hand and took off in the opposite direction of the soldiers.
Time seemed to slow down as she broke through the icy barrier. The icy cold water bit at her skin and hindered her movement. The cold water hurt her eyes, but she kept them open. She had to get to the other side!
Their tiny, bare feet seemed to pound down on the cold floor more slowly and with more force. Their hair seemed to float as they hurried down the halls.
Her lungs began to burn with the need for oxygen. Her bones shook from the negative temperature and she had to close her eyes every couple of times to keep from freezing them solid. She kept her limbs moving, though. She could see a rocky wall. She was getting closer!
A large, garage-like door came into view. There was a small, metal keypad on the wall beside it on it's left. She looked to Renault who nodded and smiled.
After what seemed like forever, a feminine frame busted through the sheet of ice, water and ice chunks spreading everywhere. She gasped in air before falling back down and rolled onto the icy shore, shivering like a rattlesnake tail. She coughed, hugging herself. That's when the shooting started again and she found herself running for cover behind more junk.
"We're almost there," Royce turned to Renault when a beeping sound started. The two's heads snapped forward to see a light blinking on the keypad and the two were soon racing for the door as it slowly came sliding down.
Coughing and sneezing, Lexus rang out her hair, wiping her nose with the back of her arm. She shook her body, water flying off of her fur, but her clothes were still soaked. She ducked to avoid another laser shot. Frowning, she ripped off her top and skirt and tossed it to the side. Her fingers gripped the handle of her laser rifle and she stood just in time to shoot down a small sentry cruiser that had been looking for her. As it came crashing into the river, she made a dash for the door at a tower. She shot away the lock and ran inside.
Royce's panicked look showed that she and Renault probably wouldn't make it in time at the speed they were going as the door got closer to the floor and the laser shots were getting more and more accurate! She fired a few shots behind her. Her grip suddenly tightened on Renault's wrist and she bent down and ran faster, her sister barely keeping up. At the last minute, she tugged Renault's arm down and both rolled under the door just as it closed. The two panted and stood.
There was nothing.
It was just like the room they had been separated in. They looked around to see nothing but metal walls stretching up to a ceiling that was probably eight feet high. Royce ran for the door, but the faces of Plutarkian guards appeared in the window, laughing at her. Royce tried firing at the window, causing the guards to take cover, but it merely left scorch marks on the window. She growled and backed up. Renault jumped at a hissing sound and the two looked about them frantically. A green mist came pouring out of the ventilation shafts on the floors and the two moved to the center of the room. They tried to hold their breath for as long as possible, but soon gave in to the mist's sleeping powers as their limp bodies fell to the floor.
Lexus panted as she held the door close and turned around to see an empty and spacious room. It was dimly lit and she could barely see a thing. She cocked her laser rifle and moved cautiously, hoping to find a door at the other end of this place. That's when she heard the sound of laser rifle powering up. She turned around abruptly, pointing the rifle.
"Give it up Cave mouse. You've lost," a gruff voice spoke. Bright lights shone down on her and she gazed around in shock to see that she was totally and completely surrounded by Plutarkian guards, all armed with rifles pointed at her. With a rueful sigh, she let her rifle drop to the floor and lifted her hands above her head.
High Chairman Camembert glared down at Lexus, pacing left and right, now completely dressed. She was in his councilroom, two Plutarkian guards at her left and right. Metal shackles behind her back bound her hands and she sat on her legs on the floor. Before her and behind Camembert were the members of his court.
"I think we should just sentence you to death and get it over with," voices of agreement were heard all around the stuffy room. Lexus gave him an "I dare you" look and he caught it.
"Go ahead," she muttered. The room fell silent.
"What did you say?" Camembert inquired. She gave him a threatening look, "Go ahead and kill me." Camembert walked up to her, grabbing her by the strap of her bra and lifting her up to eye-level. She wasn't afraid to die, he could see it. After a minute had passed, he dropped her.
"No. A death sentence would be too good for you. No, we need something much more fitting," High Chairman Camembert grumbled, "Send her to one of the Detention Facilities. The men there should be able to break her and teach her obedience." Camembert looked at the girl with a disapproving glare as she kicked and screamed while being dragged away by the guards.
They had placed Lexus back in a cage. It was dark and cold and they still hadn't bothered to give her some clothes to change into. A Detention Facility, huh? They were sending her to a Detention Facility, where they beat Martians that didn't comply. Where they tortured Cave Mice until they broke and became lifeless slaves and servants. She'd rather die than become one of those. She leaned her back against the wall of her tiny cell and began to brood.
It had been a few days. They gave her scarce rations, but it didn't bother her, as long as they left her alone. One night she was jarred from her sleep. Something was wrong with the ship! Guards were scrambling left and right. Something about a breach in the cells. Someone had escaped! She shook off the sleep and crawled towards the bars of her cell and extended her tail between the bars just as a guard ran by. Latching onto his ankle, she pulled him back, causing him to fall painfully on his face, knocking himself out when his head made contact with the floor. Quickly, she reached her hands through the bars and pulled the guard to her, snatching off his key and freeing herself.
Outside in the halls, she was running past and over the lifeless bodies of Plutarkian guards. Who had taken out all these soldiers? Who was running the ship! She barely avoided laser fire and hid behind a corner in the halls. When she peeked out, she spotted a still-living guard lying on the floor. He was wounded, bleeding, armed and he wasn't going out yet. She unceremoniously ran at him, dodging his fire and jumping over him. In two swift moves, she squatted down behind him and gave him a karate chop to the base of his neck. His body went limp. After arming herself with his laser rifle, she took off for the ship's cockpit.
Two metallic doors silently swooshed open, moving in opposite directions and giving her entrance into the cockpit. It was wide, spacious and way more lit than the brig. More Plutarkians littered the floor. She stopped when she could hear the sound of typing and hands pounding controls. At the main helm, she could tell that two people were seated at the main controls, but due to the height of the chairs, she couldn't tell who. Silently, she crept towards the two saboteurs and grabbed the chair on the left, swiveling it towards her and aiming her gun at their head. She was also greeted with a rifle pointed in between her eyes and yet another surprise.
"Royce?!"
"Lexus?!"
The sisters dropped weapons and embraced. Lexus looked into the eyes of her older sister with a true and genuine smile, "I thought I'd never see you again."
"What about me?" the two looked to the chair on the right as it swiveled to reveal Renault who joined in the group hug.
"How did you two get out?" Lexus inquired. Royce grinned, "One of those Plutarkian bastards thought he could entertain himself with Renny."
Renault confidently sat at her chair, "I guess they assumed I'd be the easy one."
Lexus hugged her and gave a noogie, "And mom said you didn't need those self-defense lessons."
"So what happens now?" Lexus asked. Renault shrugged.
"I hear the Freedom Fighters are lookin' for a few good mice," Royce smirked.
They all ducked instantly at the sound of laser fire. One of the guards was still up. Royce and Lexus sprung into action, dodging the Plutarkian's fire and eventually getting close enough to issue knockout hits. Lexus high-kicked him in the gut and Royce interlaced her fingers to slam him in the back, knocking him onto the floor. The two turned when they heard Renault utter some obscenity in French.
"What is it now?" Royce asked as she Lexus walked back to her. Renault's expression was grim, "Thanks to our friend over there, the controls have been damaged."
She looked up at the two, "I can't turn this thing back around to Mars."
Royce growled, "Well there's no way in hell we're goin' to Venus! They've probably got tons of fish guards waitin' on us."
"Well there is an alternative. What about this blue planet on the map?" Lexus pointed and sure enough, there was tiny image of the Earth. Her sisters blinked, "Earth?"
"That's Earth, huh?" Royce looked at the picture curiously. Then she turned to her sisters with a smile, "What are we waitin' for?"
They made a crash-landing in Detroit."
